Diaphane, München (n/n 026)
Diaphane is an entirely acoustic quartet that builds complex composite textures which slowly unfold in time. Preparations and extended techniques vastly broaden the timbral possibilities of the quartet and allow the four players to melt into one-another's sound worlds. In this piece the group moves through a stark landscape encompassing drones, pointillism, woven pulses, and fragile open spaces. München is Diaphane's second album and like it's predecessor, Paris, it was recorded live in concert while on tour in Europe.
